Shocking.....but true...???

Was really surprised to read in the newspapers that our i.e. Indian MP's are the lowest paid MP's in the world...!!!

Now, isnt that amazing...??? So, what they had proposed is to give these guys a raise...from their present pay of Rs.12,000 to Rs.16,000, and this will make the Govt. to cough up around additional 60 crores per year....!!!!

Now, the MP's are supposed to be the "lowest paid"...then how come do you see them(most of them) moving around in some of the most luxurious cars around...??? (-Mind you that I am talking about their personal cars and not the Official ones...). Yea 12k is not a bad amount, but owning huge properties, big cars, luxurious lifestyles(-again, I am talking about their personal lives, and not during the official time-) is definitely not a digestable fact that they are the lowest paid MP's...!!!

The perks that these MP's get are not to be forgotten...travel allowances, accomodation, no electric/water bills to be payed, a car for transportation and what not....

Last year during my visit to Delhi, we(me and my dad), stayed in an MP's guest house. I had this imagination that MP's were like, with 24/7 security and would not be seen in public just like that. But, it is not the case there. They move around just like anyone else....nothing so special. When they are back home do they get all the 5 star treatment(-when they are in service of course-).

Anyways, I guess the salary and the raise of 4,000 bucks would be just another addition in their pocket money .....!!!!
